Being from Indianapolis, Indiana, Doug attended Butler University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in piano and then went on to be awarded his Master’s in Music Education at the same university. With over 25 years of studying piano, he has developed a great love of teaching all genres of music. Currently he teaches many styles of music, including classical, pop, broadway, and the chordal approach that teaches the student not only chords but how to embellish and improvise on popular songs, like the songs of "The Great American Songbook". His students love him, advance steadily and you will too!
