History:

William Knabe established his company in Baltimore, USA in the year 1839 and remained in the family until 1906. As a well established name, the Knabe company became part of larger conglomerates until finally residing in the hands of Samick Music Corporation in the year 2000 where it has become the flagship brand for SMC. As of 2011, Knabe grands have been divided into 3 levels: Baltimore (WG models), Academy (WMG models) and Concert (WKG models).

  • Why Knabe...

Knabe pianos are handmade, limited production pianos created in the finest tradition of over 300 years of piano crafting. Each handmade Knabe has its own personality. When you play a Knabe, you will sense the difference. The rich and wondrous tonal quality of the Knabe has often been described as the nearest approach to the human singing voice. Listen to the tone of today’s Knabe – no piano in the world has a voice quite like it.
